My niece has a beta fish that she inherited from someone in the office where she works. It's old and looks old. Its color is faded and limp; it's pretty obvious that this fish is not long for this world.

She never really wanted it, but it seemed cruel to just flush it or kill it or whatever, so she took it on. She has been taking good care of the poor thing, but it just. wont. die. It can't have much longer to go.

Am I evil for wanting to buy my niece a new beta fish for Valentine's day?

Despite claims that bugs in LJ were not the cause of the problems I was having with LJ, things seem to be back in working order for me. So, with a little luck, I will be able to respond to friends now.
