Nothin' much
Mar. 15th, 2005 08:00 amWell, I finished chapter 18 – whew! I didn’t’ think I’d get it done. I’ve sent it to my beta, but she is having issues with her computer that will require her to take it to Amsterdam to get it repaired. She’d going to try to look it over from her school library and hopefully I will have it back in time to post next Monday.
I’ve started chapter 19, but don’t like what I have down very much so far, so I may need to start over. I probably won’t get much writing done todat, because I promised the boys I’d take them out to buy The Incredibles on DVD – then I have grocery shopping, and possibly a carpet picnic while I watch the movie with my kids. It’s a tough life, but somebody’s got to live it! ;P
Onto the review responses:
dakkon13 - I’m glad that scene touched you. It reminded me a bit of my own mom, after my father passed. She always found a way to keep busy and do things for others. I worked your line (or my version of it) into chapter 18. I hope I’ve done it justice for you. I really love the scene, personally. As for your other suggestion, I have to say, that I can pretty much guarantee that you’re not going to get your wish this time. There is no way that (short of a 12 gauge shotgun pointed his way) Connor would attend a dance with Vanessa – He’s only going to be a fourth year next year, while she will be seventh, and they only hold the Yule Ball every four years. Nice try, though! You’ll be happy to note that Snowball will be appearing again, and Connor will be having at least a brief interaction with him in chapter 18, as well. Happy reading!
dnd4ever Thank you! And thanks for reviewing!
Link for the day: (if it’s still there) there is a guy on ff.net who has stolen Anya’s story Naked Quidditch Match, and claiming the work as his own. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2305101/1/
Feel free to flame him in the review section or through his e-mail, if you like (which he’s been stupid enough to leave in his “author” bio). It’s been reported multiple times, so it may be gone by now. If not, check out his reviews for a good laugh. And hey – if you haven’t read NQM yet, do! It’s well worth the read, and will put a smile on your face.
EDIT: They finally took the offending author down. I have his e-mail address written down still if you REALLY hold a grudge, and want it, but other wise, here's the link to the REAL NQM: http://daisygrrl.com/quidditch/
