Well, maybe not the best ever, but it is still made of awesome!

The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish by Neil Gaiman with illustrations by Dave McKeen.

My kids really enjoyed the story, though my oldest didn't like the art. I loved them both. It's not really a new book, it just caught my eye while I was at the bookstore, and it is new to paperback as of October. I reccommend it highly.

Also, on an unrelated note? Bake some brownies in mini muffin tins (they now sell little silicone cupcake liner things that are awesome). When they are almost ready to come out of the oven, push two Milk Duds into the center and finish baking them (about a minute or two). MUY delicioso! Great little snack/dessert for guests or company, served with a bit of ice cream.

In my family, we all get together once a week for family dinner. Two of my sisters that live nearby, and my nieces - we rotate each other houses, so each of us has a set week we are responsible for. We eat and catch up on each other's news and play games like scrabble and dominoes and stuff. It's fun!

There are up to a dozen of us on any given week, and my week is the second week of the month. Which means that I've got family dinner at my house on Sunday, and I am going to try a new recipe. I love it when I get to use my family as guinea pigs!

Anyway--my sons want to make monkey bread for dessert. If you have never had monkey bread, you're missing out! It's easy and fun and tasty! Go HERE to find out more! Recipies vary a bit, but they should all work fine.

Well, I found a recipe for monkey bread, but instead of cinnamon, it's for garlic and parmesan cheese bread! I am going to make it to go with the pork roast I'm trying out a new recipe for. I'm so excited! It's been a while since I tried something really new.

I also bought little tiny graham cracker crusts for tarts or whatever...I think I shall fill them and bake them like baby pumpkin or cherry pies.

Can you tell I'm hungry right now?

I got an email coupon for Cost Plus World Market for 40% off one regular priced item (excluding furniture and alcohol)…if any of you have a Cost Plus near you and want the coupon, let me know, and I will send it to you it’s good until the 21st, and you can print out as many as you want and go once a day if it pleases you to do so.

The reason I am telling you this (besides it being a good deal) is because I have procured, using said coupon, a SQUARE spring form baking pan!! I am so excited! Those of you who don’t bake can go ahead and look at me strangely, now. But I have the wonderful small of pumpkin bread/cake wafting through my house right now, and it isheavenly

I love this pan so much, that I went and bought another one today (got the first one yesterday). The second one will have banana bread in it, shortly.

On a completely unrelated note – I got my monthly blood draw done today, and the lab was so busy it was an hour and a half wait!! It was nuts! I have never had to wait more than ten minutes before. Of course, they never listen to me when I say that my veins are bad, and that they need to draw the blood from the back of my hand, so I have TWO new holes in my arm. They are always so sure that they are better at drawing blood than anyone else I might have ever encountered in the medical industry, that they will be the ones to successfully draw blood from the crook of my arms when everyone else in the know universe has failed – even with the use of an ultrasound machine! Jeeze!

Anyway, that’s pretty much all I have to say – I am just happy in a geeky kind of way.

Hope everyone else if having a great day!
