aisforamy: december 2011 (last supper)
My sister graduated from ASU, Summa Cum Laude with a BSW tonight, and I am very, very proud of her. She has worked hard, and has been accepted into the accelerated Master's program, so will have her Master's degree in Social Work at this time next year.

We went to dinner afterward, where my diet got chucked out the window in favor of southwest cuisine and a half a piece of fudge pie. I don't regret it.

Mother's day is this Sunday, and even though I am hosting family dinner, I might take the first part of the day to drive up with my sister and visit our parents' (and grandparents') graves. My father died on mother's day (May 12th) ten years ago, so it's kind of a double whammy for us. I miss them both every day, and wish I could make the trip up there more often.

It's about an hour and a half each way, so we could easily be home in time for family dinner. Especially if I just have chicken salad sandwiches, or something that I can make ahead of time.

For now, I am very tired, and am going to bed.

To any and all I am threading with? I will tag tomorrow, when my brain is not so fuzzy and half-dead.

Nighty-night!
aisforamy: december 2011 (bart tongue caught)
In my family, we all get together once a week for family dinner. Two of my sisters that live nearby, and my nieces - we rotate each other houses, so each of us has a set week we are responsible for. We eat and catch up on each other's news and play games like scrabble and dominoes and stuff. It's fun!

There are up to a dozen of us on any given week, and my week is the second week of the month. Which means that I've got family dinner at my house on Sunday, and I am going to try a new recipe. I love it when I get to use my family as guinea pigs!

Anyway--my sons want to make monkey bread for dessert. If you have never had monkey bread, you're missing out! It's easy and fun and tasty! Go HERE to find out more! Recipies vary a bit, but they should all work fine.

Well, I found a recipe for monkey bread, but instead of cinnamon, it's for garlic and parmesan cheese bread! I am going to make it to go with the pork roast I'm trying out a new recipe for. I'm so excited! It's been a while since I tried something really new.

I also bought little tiny graham cracker crusts for tarts or whatever...I think I shall fill them and bake them like baby pumpkin or cherry pies.

Can you tell I'm hungry right now?
