So! An exciting day!
lai_lore got hit by a car this morning, and is one sore puppy. She is fine--they took her to get checked out at the hospital and did x-rays and a cat scan and junk to make sure her insides aren't scrambled, then they gave her a script for pain killers and let her go. I was there the whole time, and now she is ensconced on my couch.
She will be staying with me for a day or two, because I have a strong suspicion that she is going to stiffen up and be more hurty later, and I don't want her at home alone with no one to look after her.
What happened is that she was walking to her bus stop, and she had the right of way, and someone was turning right, and hit her. Apparently she actually flipped over (according to a witness) but she doesn't remember that part. Unfortunately, the asshole took off--fortunately someone else saw it and followed them and the cops got them. We don't know anything more about that; whether or not they had insurance or if they were arrested or what. We will find that out later--I am just happy she is all right, and the rest is just details.
After that, my truck broke down and we spent the next two hours in the hospital parking lot trying to sort it out. My battery died, and triggered the kill switch in my alarm and no one could figure it out. We eventually got it started, and on our way.
I am sure Lai would appreciate your well-wishes and prayers, if you are a praying type, for a speedy recovery.
