Jan. 11th, 2010 06:11 pmWent to a wedding this weekend, which was lovely. It is always nice to see family gather to celebrate love.
On a sadder note, Four people I know lost family members this past week. I hope that all of them and their families are finding comfort in their happy memories. Life is short, but love is long.
I am proud to say that I stuck with it the first week of my diet (except for Saturday, because of the wedding--I cheated there.) The scale says I lost six pounds, which sounds great until I remember that the first few weeks are always the easiest ones to lose weight in. I am happy, but know it's just the beginning.
I had a Parent Teacher conference today for my youngest child. He is doing better than last semester and so I guess we'll keep him for a couple more months. I will just say that God makes children cute for a reason...so we don't kill them when they are being unbearably trying. My oldest continues to excel, but his teacher is recovering from shoulder surgery, and isn't going to be holding conferences unless the parents insist.
Starting tomorrow, I am going to be getting a couple of more hours a week at work. I only get twenty-three hours on a good week, so this will be a nice boost. I will be working with a group of first graders on their reading, phonics, etc. I will find out more about it tomorrow, but it's an area I have experience in, and I really enjoy working with the kids and seeing their progress.
Other than that, life continues much as it always has. We're healthy and happy and doing our best. That concludes this boring update of the A is for Amy LJ entry. As you were.
