Things I saw today:
Feb. 9th, 2010 04:19 pmToday I saw:
A boy trying to ride to school on his bike while balancing a violin case on his lap while texting one-handed. It was kind of like watching a circus act.
Three hummingbirds playing high-speed Follow The Leader.
A very large Weimaraner named Gunther. Apparently his previous owner never took him for walks, so everything was VERY EXCITING to him, and he got the entire dog population in the neighborhood howling. It was funny!
A cloud that looked like a pterodactyl.
A pregnant woman stopping people in the parking lot of the grocery store, begging people to take her shopping for food for her baby. When the manager went to investigate, she began speaking Spanish. When the manager spoke Spanish to her, she switched to another language and pretended not to understand. When he offered to call the police to see if they could help translate, she suddenly spoke English perfectly. Interesting.
A kid eating pickles on his pizza.
Some regular Ed kids trying to teach one the special ed kids how to throw a basketball.
A bee on my shoulder, while it investigated my fluorescent yellow crossing guard vest.
There was other stuff, but those are the highlights.
One more thing that amused me: A boy and a girl walking home from school together were getting ready to go separate ways at my cross walk. She was turning west, and he was continuing north. The boy promised to call the girl later, and about thirty seconds after they parted, the girl shouted to the boy, "REMEMBER! USE A GIRLY VOICE!"
I cracked up. Sounds like someone isn't allowed to get calls from boys.
Did you see anything good today?
