I liked these...
Mar. 12th, 2010 01:39 pmMy awesome sister texts me with an inspirational thought every day. Usually it's diet related (Bigger snacks mean bigger slacks), but she sent a couple the other day that I have been thinking a lot about.
It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not.
Also, this one:
Not changing the things in your life that you don't like is the same as choosing to have those things.
Now, obviously the second one means the things in your life that actually CAN be changed, and the things that are under your control. I've been thinking about both of these sayings and how much I really limit myself with unhelpful thoughts, sometimes. I have always considered myself an optimist, but I think I am going to try to redouble my effort to remind myself more of who I am rather than who I'm not and work on changing the things that make me unhappy. It sounds like common sense, but it's never been something I've actively thought about in the day to day scheme of things.
