More Random Weirdness...
Dec. 8th, 2004 06:44 amI just heard from my Mother in Law that K-mart has bought Sears. Yippee! Two Craptastic stores – Combined! Now I can be ignored and treated like vermin in one convenient stop!
Sorry – I have issues regarding both of those stores.
On a nicer note – I don’t have to do those cards for the school teachers anymore – they decided to save us all a lot of trouble, and just get them all Starbucks gift cards. Whew! Now I can get on with making my own Christmas cards!
Now I know I may regret this, but anyone who would like me to mail them a Christmas card made by me, e-mail me your name and mailing address (alalpin@go.com), and I’ll do my very best to send you one! They’re snowflake themed! I’ll even mail internationally. It’s probably NOT a good idea to post your address on the LJ, so be sure to e-mail me with it if you want one.
A special note to Jack O’Toole - Jack has appointed himself the fixer of my fics! Isn’t that cool? He’s gone a looked over No Laughing Matter, and is sending me a file with his comments and suggestions and stuff. This is great, because that fic was the first long one I ever wrote, and I never had it beta-ed and it neeeeeeeeeeds work. Bad. So hopefully I will be giving it a going-over and reposting a better version of it soon. Won’t that be nice? *Hugs Jack*
As for Chapter Five of FTU:
Jasmine Evans - Yeah – I thought blindness and insanity were good reasons for Connor’s outburst. I almost hate doing that stuff to him – it makes me feel bad, like I’m punishing one of my children! Still it’s all necessary for the ‘big picture’. Rupert still has some lessons to learn, it’s true, and I don’t think anyone’s gong to make those lessons any easier to learn if he keeps acting the way he does.
RedTizzy - Well I’m glad you were in such a good mood! The Yage was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, though if Snape every catches who made that mistake *shivers*. I’m glad you’re enjoying all of the little scenery things I like to slip in here and there – such as the owl shortage on the first day.
AnnaVignola - Hi! Thanks so much sweetie! *Hugs you!*
Brittney_a-t - Thanks! I sure will! Every Monday, if not a teensy bit earlier (Sometimes I goof and do it Sunday night).
GiGifanfic - I’m glad you think so! I’ve been trying hard to give the kids their own personalities, instead of making them exactly like their parents.
DarkLadyofSlytherin - I feel for you – my sister is sweating over all of her exams. She just finished an oral presentation on the History of Buddhism for World Religion, and another oral exam in Spanish. I thought she was going to go permanently cross-eyed from all of the studying! Now she just has final exams to worry about. Now, back on topic: Connor does worry quite a lot about being seen as a huge freak, and I think a lot of that stems from who his father is. Harry shies away from fame, and Connor adores his father, and so tries to stay out of the spotlight as well. I thought about REALLY describing what he saw in his mind with the Yage incident, but didn’t want to gross anyone out. I saw it in my head, and it wasn’t pretty! Anyway – good luck on your Psych test!
dnd4ever - Yes, Snape has a conscious somewhere deep, deep down. We’ll see a bit more about that much later in the fic. I don’t know why I don’t write about him more – I guess I feel like I can never really do such an intriguing character justice.
Also, since I have you captive, I have to tell you something my kid said to me. We were watching a show about Bull Sharks, and these people had set up lines to try to catch one in a specific area. There were monitoring these lines at night, and there was a full moon. So I said, “Oh, Great! Now they have to watch out for werewolves, too!” My (almost) seven-year-old son turns to me and says, completely seriously, “Mom, werewolves can’t swim!” I don’t know why that makes me laugh so much, but it does!
*End gratuitous cute child moment*
