WHAT DID YOU SAY?
Jan. 4th, 2005 09:01 pmWHAT? It SO sucks to have a ruptured eardrum. I can’t hear anything properly. Blah.
It's been raining here. A LOT. That's not usual for AZ, and there was even a tornado watch (Weird!) and a lot of hail. We're over 300% past our usual rainfall for the season, with more expected. For those of you who don't live in a desert climate, it's almost twilight zone strange for us to be getting this much moisture.
I have a sister (and niece) in town from Iowa right now, and husband who has called in sick to work for three days in a row, so I’m not getting much opportunity to write. There will almost definitely be a delay in the next chapter – I hope you all can forgive me. It was truly my goal to have a new chapter out every week, and I feel bad about not being able to do it – but RL rears it’s ugly head.
So many wonderful reviewers! I love you, I truly do!
msabella - Your theory about Connor’s hands and what makes them itch is, sadly, incorrect. The plot will revolve around the issue of his hands and what the itching portends, though. Ms Grayson is an interesting character, and we will, indeed, get to know her better in future chapters – she and Professor Lupin seem to be becoming quite good friends of late!
dnd4ever - I was pretty proud of those little sweets myself! I though about making Vanessa the first victim, but that would have opened up a whole different can of worms!
harrypotterfan777777 - Ms Grayson and Professor Lupin are fast becoming good friends, and I think that it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye on them. Lupin has always been a bit of a loner because of his Lycanthropy (the reasons for which we’ll learn more about later), so there are some obstacles he would need to overcome before developing any kind of real relationship. As for a prank war, I don’t know that Rupert is really equipped to go head-to-head with Connor and company, but I foresee a lot of attempts on both sides in the future!
LadyLupinLover - See my answer for harrypotterfan777777 above for the answer to Ms. Grayson/Lupin. Go Circe, indeed!
LilyoftheEarth - No, the itching doesn’t have anything to do with animals at all – dark creatures or otherwise! Good guess, though! Thanks for your well wishes – I’m slowly getting back to what passes for normal!
BobJones - It was mean, wasn’t it? Something tells me that things will probably get a lot uglier before they get better (of they get better!).
dakkon13 - The boys are kind of fighting the hormonal thing, aren’t they? Don’t worry; I’m not planning on repeating the Goblet of Fire after the ball thing. Quentin and Rachel, huh? I’m not so sure about that one. I thought you might enjoy mention of Snowball (heehee)!
UncleBrad - A practical joke played on the last remaining original Marauder? Could it be done? You’ve got me wondering, now! Mwhahahaha!
JasmineEvans - It would be funny if Snape got a hold of a Flatulent Fancy, but something tells me he’s not the sort of person who indulges in ‘special effects’ sweets. Come to think of it, he doesn’t seem the type to enjoy sweets at all!
pdlegirl - Those itchy hands seem to be bothering the readers as much as they bother Connor! Lupin seems to be getting along very well with Ms Grayson, but I wouldn’t say that they’re a couple just yet – it’s early days.
Katherine - I’m glad that you’re enjoying the story! Connor is not really interested in girls just yet, though I’m sure his hormones should be kicking in soon. Seeing his cousin kissing a girl, and some other romances going on around Hogwarts may start to wake him up a bit, but I wouldn’t look for him to be starting any relationships in this story.
Megglett - You know, I've gotten mixed reviews about the prank on Rupert - some thought it too mean, others loved it. All I can say is that kids will be kids. It's a good guess, but Connor's hands itching doesn't have anything to do with Ms. Grayson - she wasn't even in the country when the itching first started.
For the link of the day: I couldn’t figure this one out very well, but it’s kind of fun to watch the bloody mangled mess when you mess up!
