Stuff and stuff.
Apr. 14th, 2005 04:00 pmThe warm weather is definitely here. My sisters house is once again infested with scorpions. She’s found two this week, and as the temperature goes up, so does the scorpion count. These things are worse the cock roaches when it comes to trying to kill them, too! They’re nasty. I’ve lived in my house for over ten years, and I’ve found maybe five or six the entire time I’ve been here. My sister finds at least that many a month—and she’s phobic about them. They used to send her into a panic attack, but she’s gotten better since.
If I lived in a house with that many scorpions, I’d have probably burned it to the ground by now. *shivers*
In other news, my beta
eighthweasley just finished making my latest chapter – Chapter 21 – Breaking Point fit for reading. She never ceases to amaze me with her knowledgy –type brain. I wish I’d had her when I did Foreshadowing the Past, though my grammar was so bad then, that she might have just said, “Sorry, but …no.”

Lalaith Feanaro - Yes, Connor seems to have quite an affinity with Potions. I think it’s the reason Snape is bothering with him at all. Besides the fact that one doesn’t meet a true healer every day, or be in a position to train one. Perhaps he’s seeing a certain amount of notoriety for himself in whatever Connor chooses to become, or maybe he is just making certain that Connor doesn’t make him look bad.
Megglett Thank You! Clio is a cutie, isn’t she? And she loooooooves Connor very much. She reminds me a bit of Pig. Lyra is loosening up a bit – which is what I wanted from the get-go, but she insisted on being stiff. Snape doesn’t like Connor, particularly, because I think he truly despises children in all of their forms, but he is learning to tolerate him. Eventually he’ll grow to respect him (I hope), and he may end up liking the person Connor eventually becomes.
wolfgrl - I don’t think Connor’s foolish enough to provoke Snape into revoking brewing privileges. Snape is methodical and careful, and wants to make sure that Connor knows what he is doing before allowing him to waste time and materials on letting him try to brew his own potion. Clio is a little….quirky. She’s evidently and affectionate owl, and has some sort of strange hair fetish!
Jasmine Evans - Don’t worry about it! I love hearing from you, but I understand it’s now always convenient to review. Snape doesn’t feel as resentful toward Connor as he did against James and Harry. With James, the resentment was probably well-earned, and with Harry, well, we all know about Harry from canon. Still Harry did defeat Voldemort, and freed Snape from the Dark Mark, so that softens things a bit, as much as anything is ever soft with the Potions Master. Another point is that Connor shows Snape (and Potions) the proper respect—something Harry had to be forced into doing in his school days. It helps Snape to see that Connor is bright and really loves Potions.
AnimalZoo (NLM) – I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I’m afraid that I don’t have any plans for a sequel at the present time. I’ve been rather consumed with my Foreshadowing series, and it didn’t occur to me, really, to try to blend the two to fit together. Different timelines, I think.
And for all of you lexiophiles out there:
