eh...this just came out.
Mar. 22nd, 2006 04:11 pmHarry sat in a chair, and tried not to think about how tight his collar felt. His dress robes had been bought at the last moment, by Mrs. Weasley, when he'd discovered that his green ones no longer came anywhere near to fitting him anymore. Bill's wedding was too important an occasion to wear his school robes to, and he had not ventured out to Diagon Alley since leaving Hogwarts.
I'll have to make a trip there soon, he thought to himself as Hermione came and settled into the seat beside him. I'll need to pick up supplies before I go.
Hermione seemed to know what he was thinking, and looked over at him with a reassuring smile. "I thought we weren't going to think about all that today," she said quietly. "This might be the last time we have for a bit of fun for a while."
Harry was about to say he was sorry, but the words got stuck in his throat as Ginny came walking out of the burrow, dressed in soft gold and still carrying the bouquet that she had been holding during the ceremony. Hermione's gaze followed his, and she gave his hand a small squeeze before saying, "She looks pretty, doesn't she?"
Harry simply nodded, somewhat miserably. He hadn't been able to tear his eyes from her for the entirety of the ceremony. She'd stood beside Gabrielle and Fleur, a flame between to silvery gold pillars, making the two other girls pale in comparison.
"She wants to come with us, you know," Hermione said, breaking her own rule about discussing their upcoming search of the remaining Horcruxes.
"I know," he said gruffly. "I won't let her." I won't let you, either, he said silently.
Oh, but she was going to be furious when she found the she'd been left behind.
