General geekery...

So! I am starting to get psyched about my upcoming Harry Potter party in July. For those of you who live in, or will be visiting AZ at that time (Though why you would come here in July is beyond me), you are most certainly welcome to come. I will be choosing a date soon, and making arrangements with the Pub for the party room and such very soon, I think.

I went nuts with candy molds and candy flavoring oils. I am going to make a lot of candies for Honeydukes- some hard candies, and some chocolate, and maybe (if I can figure out how) some gummies. It will be interesting to see how everything turns out...I will start experimenting once my order arrives. I guess I should buy a candy thermometer, huh?

I don't know if you will ever actually see this, but I wanted to write it down.

I love you, lots. You are really more like a sister to me than just a friend (which I am sure you know), and I wish we lived closer to each other and got to talk more often.

Over the years we have had our disagreements, our long road trips, our grief and and our fun and joys. We have graduated high school together, started families, moved to new addresses and grown up (when did that happen?

I wouldn't have it any other way. (Except for us living so far apart.)

I finished it!

I finished the wand I was making for lai_lore, and it turned out prettiful, I think. The scans aren't the greatest, but they give you a general idea of what it looks like.

It has been fun getting out my tools and playing with them, again!

In other news, the first two days of my diet have been going well. I need to get out and exercise, but at least I am watching what I eat, writing everything down, and eating small frequent snacks (like oranges and little bits of cheese and crackers!)

I took my dog to get her nails trimmed today (they were SOOOOO long and scary), and she tried to bite the lady, because she was freaked out. The poor baby was shaking like crazy, and I had to put a muzzle on her, because she fought the lady. I swear they cut a quarter to a half and inch off her nails! She is such an indoor dog, that she doesn't wear them down. I am afraid to trim them myself, because her toenails are black, so I can't wee where the nerve is.

I also took her for show and share at my son's class, and she did very well. She behaved like a good dog should, and obeyed all my hand signals. The special ed teacher came and asked me if I could bring her to her room some time for her kids to love on, but I think I want to wait until she has had a bit more training and socializing.

Godzilla and Torkle are growing so fast, but Torkle (the river cooter) is easily two to three times bigger than Godzilla now. He is almost too big for his turtle dock, and it sinks pretty far when he climbs onto it. I will take pictures of them if my husband ever gives my camera back. I accidentally left it in his truck, and he's discovered it is handy for his job. *sigh*

My bloodwork came back yesterday, and my , blood is way too thin now. This is getting silly. I was taking 5mg of coumadin on odd days, and 10mg on even days, and now I am not supposed to take it again until tomorrow, then take ten mg every day except Weds and Sun, when I will take 5mg. Am I really supposed to remember this? We're talking about the girl who nuked her lunch yesterday, then forgot about it for over an hour. This should be interesting.

Nothing much more to report, and I've rambled for long enough.
