Dec. 13th, 2007 11:39 amI completely fail at being caught up and communicating and stuff. I have been baking and making candy at a breakneck pace for the past couple of days, and generally being a busy mom.
My oldest son had his first orchestra concert the other night, and it was really cute to see all of the kids playing their little hearts out. His birthday is tomorrow, and I am feeling really old--he is going to be TEN. Good Lord, where did the time go??
Anyway, I have been busy trying to get the house decorated for Christmas, get things cleaned up for Robert to have a sleepover on Saturday, and planning something fun for his birthday dinner and such.
I have a cookie exchange to go to tonight, and I have just finished making six dozen mini gingerbread muffins and filling them each with a squirt of frosting. They are delicious! I can't wait to see what I get in exchange! I was hoping to get some peppermint bark made, too, but I am doubting I have the time. I may try, though. If I don't get it done in time, I can always send it out to neighbors as a Christmas treat.
<lj user= lai_lore has a birthday coming up on the 23rd, too. If you know her, be sure to wish her a happy one! If you'd like to send her a card, email me, and I will give you a mailing address. I don't know how to make a filter to keep her from reading this, so but I will keep it a secret if anyone contacts me about it. I am currently waiting for the suckers I made for Robert's class to cool enough to take out of the molds, then I am going to tie them up in baggies and take then over to the school for him to share as a birthday treat, since he has a field trip tomorrow from nine in the morning until six at night. I am NOT making enough for the entire fourth and fifth grades, so he'll just have to share them a day early. **sigh** I have a ton of laundry and cleaning to do, still, and I NEED a nap like it isn't even funny. I may squeeze one in while the boys do their homework later. Hope everyone is well, and that the packages I sent out got to everyone unscathed, and the cards, too. Thanks to everyone who has sent me a card so far, too! They make me feel loved! **hugs to everyone!!**
