Today = Good day.

I was sooooo tired this morning that I needed to take a nap, but I did get a lot of things done, anyway.
I was only about a half an hour into said nap, when my phone rang, and it was my husband telling me that Game Crazy had gotten in the Nintendo Wii system, and that I needed to pick it up within the hour. Ooookay! We did promise Robert that we would buy him one at the first availability for his birthday (which was Dec.14th), and we have been on a waiting list for over a month to get one. Today was our day! Woo!
I got there to pick it up, and I asked if they had Twilight Princess to go with it, and they just happened to have a used copy that had just come in! =D!! So my boys are very, very happy right now.
Seeing as my nap was interrupted, I decided to put my son’s badges on his new Cub Scout shirt. I must whole-heartedly endorse Badge Magic for this! No sewing involved!![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
illmantrim did have the excellent idea, though, that sewing should be the first badge that the cubs earn, so that they could put on their own badges. Sadly, those things are thick, and not exactly easy to sew—especially on a pocket, where you don’t want to sew the pocket shut.
So, now Robert has a brand new shirt with all the right badges, a new Bear neckerchief with slide, and a new Bear handbook (with spiral binding, because his last book looks like it was mauled by a wild animal). That stuff really adds up, and is expensive! Good thing I have another boy who will be using them in a couple of years, so they’ll get good use.
After I got that done, I decided to try for the nap again, but was only able to get about a half an hour before I had to pick up the kids from school, because Wednesday is early release day.
As I was leaving to pick the kids up, the UPS man arrived to deliver my new DSL installation kit! YIPEE!!! I can leave the world of dial up behind, and actually use my new laptop! That is, assuming I can hook it all up without major catastrophe.
That’s it (so far). My only other random comments are that my new glasses are nifty, but I find my eyelashes keep brushing the lenses (I have long eyelashes). Also, my dog does not like the ice cream man, and barks as soon as she hears the song from his truck. Lastly, Dollar Tree has little speakers that you can plug you iPod into. They aren't great - it's only a dollar, after all - but they are fun.
