aisforamyI have to rec this fic. If it were up to me, this story would be required reading for all fans of Harry Potter Fan Fiction. It's just brilliant, and while it is a work in progress, the author updates very frequently. I check EVERY DAY to see if it's been updated. It's that good.
It starts out with Harry recieving a letter from the Dursleys while he's at school, and Harry eventually finds out that his Aunt is gravely ill and that Vernon wants him to come and cure her - with magic - from there this story takes so many unexpected twists and turns, that you just can't imagine what might come next, and it's always more exciting and emotional than you expect.
The characterizations in this story are phenomenal! I never would have read or believed a story where Snape becomes a father figure to Harry without stepping completely out of character, but that doesn't happen here. Harry, Snape, Draco - they're all beautifully portrayed and true to their canon counterparts characterizations. I was hooked after the first chapter, and I think that anyone else who reads it will be too.
