Apr. 1st, 2005 06:18 amHee hee! I had a little girl at my kids’ school run up to me today while I was selling raffle tickets for the carnival, and say, “I know you! I know who you are! You’re that lady who tells my teacher if we’re bad in line!” My reputation precedes me! I’m famous! Mwhahahaha! Yes, I expect the kids to follow the rules, but I only told their teacher twice this year that they were misbehaving – both times because fistfights almost broke out in the kindergarten line! Therefore, I am the evil mom! I love it! If they find out where I live, I’ll probably get my house egged and TP’ed.
To me, there is nothing worse than kids that young (5 or 6 years old) who have no respect for adults. I actually had one kid say that he didn’t have to listen to me (when I told him to stop hitting other kids with his backpack) because I didn’t work at the school. Really? The principal just happened to be walking by right then and explained (in no uncertain terms) that he was wrong. I’m sorry, I may not get paid, but I have volunteered well over 100 hours this year. I work there.
Carnival is tonight! I swear everyone one I know is freaking out over this dinky little elementary school carnival where the “rides” consist of inflatable mazes, slides and a jousting game. Relax people! Everyone is going to be there to have a good time. We’ve done everything we can to make sure that happens. Chill.
I guess it’s easy for me to say this year…I won’t be in charge of the whole thing until next year. Famous last words. Still, I’ll be glad when it’s over, and I have more time to dedicate to other stuff. (Like the field trip to the zoo coming up!)
Chapter 20 is coming along. I’m on page ten, and still have a way to go. I haven’t heard from my beta in a couple of days, so I may have to give her goose tomorrow so that I can get Chapter 19 posted on Monday. That’s my goal, anyway. Wish me luck!
Link of the day? How about a Fred and George pic in honor of both April Fool’s day and their b-day. http://www.artdungeon.net/general/template.php?p=fredgeorge
