Happy Birthday
velvethope!
Sorry I haven’t been too good about replying to comment the past few days – I will get a round to it, I’ve just been feeling blah.
But…
Doctor today! Thank heavens, now I can start backing off of these awful pills and try to get my life back in order. I can’t believe that the Half-Blood Prince release is so close – I have sooooo much to do! My wands are still in pieces, for the most part, because I still need to stain the wood, and want to get metal bands to go around tops of the handles to make them a bit stronger
D_Kelpie - Thank you very much! This fic is actually only a chapter or so away from being complete – but I do hope to write the next year of Connor’s life . I’m loving Refiner’s Fire – it’s a great read! I probably should have had a Brit-picker myself when I started writing my own stories (not that my beta isn’t fabulous). It really shows that Abraxan takes a lot of care with her work. I appreciate it!
SHEla WOLFsbane - Thanks, honey! Yes, I think Snape angry at one of his own house? Run! Flee! Hide!!! And I’m glad that Lupin sat down and answered Connor straight, as well. Kids do so much better with things when you take the time to tell them what’s involved and what to expect in any situation. You’ll be happy to know that Chapter 27 is finished, and Chapter 28 (the last one, I think, unless I feel I need a epilogue) is well underway!
Gacked from
velvethope who is another year wiser, today!

Not-really-a-Link of the day - Is this way too hokey? It’s one of the games I plan on playing with the kids at our HBP party, and I’d like an opinion on how it would appeal, especially to kids, though adults can play too. The whole point of the game, is to have people sit or stand in a circle – then you choose a person to start, and hand that person a prize (I was planning on using a wand or a small wrapped present of some sort). That person holds the prize while the game begins. The host (me) reads a short story about Harry, and every time the story includes the word “right”, the person holding the prize hands the prize to the person on the right. Every time the story includes the work “left”, the person holding the prize passes to the person on their left. It’s a very simple game, and I’ve seen it used for adults at Tupperware parties and such. The person holding the prize at the end of the story is the winner, and gets to keep the prize. What do you think? If it’s good, I’ll write up a couple of more stories, if not, I’ll think if something else. Feel free to use this, too, if you like it.
