Well... I went to see X-men 3 last night (finally), and I have to say that while it was entertaining, I am not sorry that I had to wait so long to see it. I was really disappointed at all of the questions left unanswered, and how far from canon they wandered.
Sure they left it open for another sequel, and Hugh Jackman is always a pleasure to look at, but I think I would rather watch Hugh Jackman sit on a stool for a couple of hours and actually ready the comics books to me, than watch all of the characters try to fix/explain/ignore all of the stuff that was wrong with X3.
However, the night was not a total loss. Since I rarely get a chance to get out to the movies (I get to go without my kids maybe three times a year), my sister and I decided to stay and watch Superman Returns.
I did like the new Superman. I was actually really surprised that they pulled it off, after the other Superman movies. I also liked that they kept a lot of the score of the original movies, and gave a nod to them in parts of the script. The storyline was good, and I loved Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. The kid actor had no personality, but that was really one of the worst things I can say about the film. I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Other than that, life continues apace.
My kitchen chairs keep migrating to my living room because, according to my kids, the floor has turned to lava (again). Travel around the room is made easier by the fact that we just brought in a coffee table from the shed. It is apparently fireproof enough to withstand the lava and be suitable for keeping ones feet from the floor.
I have a meeting on Friday evening with the previous PTO president, where she will give me the keys and show me where everything is kept. Then I suppose I will be the new president FOR REAL. It's slightly scary.
Also, I changed my mood theme for my journal! It took a long time, and then half of the pictured I wanted to use wouldn't work and I DON'T KNOW WHY. It was frustrating, but maybe I'll try adding some different ones later.
(Wow! I haven't had this much to say in a long time!)
