Getting Nervous...
Feb. 27th, 2008 10:44 amTonight is the second public hearing regarding the closure of my kids' school, and I didn't feel nervous about it before, but I am now. I don't enjoy public speaking...I don't mind leading a meeting like with PTO, or teaching a class--but to be speaking about something so important to me, and wanting to get it right and make an impact with my words is daunting.
I have what I want to say written down, and I will be revising it a couple more times, I am sure, before tonight, but my stomach is threatening to tie itself in knots. I have two to three minutes to speak, but others have offered to give up their minutes so that I will have longer, if I need it. This makes me feel like they expect me to have a lot of really good material to cover, and while I have some--I don't have anything Earth shattering that will cause the board members to all have a sudden epiphany about it.
Anyway...wish me luck!
