Dec. 22nd, 2006 06:56 pmAfter breaking up a heated argument between my kids over Pokemon cards, I told my kids that Santa was probably was only going to bring them coal.
“BUT!” I told them, “That’s all right! We can just write numbers on the pieces of coal, depending on size. Then you can throw them at each other, and add up all the numbers of the ones that actually hit. The winner is determined by who had the better aim and dealt out the most battle damage.”
The giggled a little bit, and rolled their eyes at their goofy mom. But at least now they are playing more companionably.
